Some statistics:
The Willimantic deanery is made up of 10 parishes and two mission churches. As of October 15, these parishes are served by 13 priests, four of whom are over the retirement age of 75, and three of whom have other assignments within the diocese. The October Count for the deanery has decreased by about 700 in the last four years. Currently, the deanery has about 40 weekend masses available for about 5500 people. Half the population of the deanery is in three parishes; Holy Family in Hebron, St. Thomas in Storrs and St. Joseph in Willimantic. Excluding those three parishes, average attendance at weekend masses is about 120.
