PRAYER FOR RESTRUCTURING

Diocese of Norwich

Good and gracious God, you are calling the church of the diocese of Norwich to a new Pentecost and a new birth in the Spirit. We pray that you will send your Spirit’s gifts of wisdom, knowledge, fortitude and counsel upon all involved in the process of restructuring. May the changes they suggest be pleasing to you. May we be a living example, as Jesus is, of the Gospel values of love, compassion, and obedience to your will.
Unchanging God, we, your people, find change so difficult to accept. We pray you will send upon us the Spirit’s gift of understanding so that we may accept with grace and conviction that it is your will that is being accomplished. May the decisions reached bring new life and vitality to our church. May our Eucharist be celebrated with renewed enthusiasm as we recognize what it means to be a pilgrim church on the march to a fuller life with you.
We make our prayer in the name of Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
